Vidlist does not send your playlists to Vidlist servers. Apple Music requests go directly to Apple.
The short version
Vidlist does not collect your data. There is no Vidlist account, no Vidlist server, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. This policy applies to the Vidlist iOS app and is effective July 7, 2026.
What Vidlist does
With your permission, Vidlist uses Apple's MusicKit framework to load playlist summaries, hydrate tracks for selected playlists or All My Songs scans, search the Apple Music catalog for matching music videos, and create playlists in your Apple Music library. Matching happens on your device.
Data we collect
None. We cannot see your playlists, library, matches, or use of the app.
Data that goes to Apple
Apple Music is a network service. Vidlist communicates directly with Apple through MusicKit for authorization, playlist browsing, selected track hydration, catalog search, playlist creation, and Apple-provided artwork URLs. Those requests are governed by Apple's privacy policy. None of that traffic is sent to us.
Vidlist never downloads, records, transcodes, caches, or exports playable Apple Music media.
Data stored on your device
- A match cache containing stable Apple Music identifiers, not playlist, song, or artist names.
- Your manual match choices and skip decisions.
- Conversion history containing created playlist names, count summaries, and dates.
- Playlist Sync rules with hash-only source snapshots.
- One resumable conversion checkpoint while a conversion is in progress.
Local app storage may be included in Apple or device backups depending on your settings. Cache, overrides, history, and sync rules can be cleared in Vidlist Settings. An active checkpoint can be discarded from the Convert screen.
Notifications
Playlist Sync notifications are optional and off by default. They contain only counts and status, never playlist, song, or artist names.
Children
Vidlist collects no data from anyone, including children. MusicKit may surface catalog titles, artwork, and explicit or clean labels.
Changes to this policy
If a future version changes the privacy posture, this policy and the App Store privacy label will be updated before that version ships.
